The Queen died at Balmoral, Scotland. Before going there, she was worried. She didn’t want her funeral arrangements to cause problems if she died at Balmoral.
According to the Daily Mail, Anne, who was very close to the Queen, says in the film: “I think there was a moment when she felt it would be more difficult if she died at Balmoral.”
The family would have tried to convince her not to make the decision depend on that. “I hope that in the end she felt it was right, because I think we have it,” her daughter hopes.
The Queen had a great connection with the Scottish Highlands. She is said to have been the happiest she was at Balmoral, her niece Princess Eugenie (33) revealed in a TV documentary in 2016.
Despite physical difficulties, the Queen traveled from Windsor Castle to Balmoral in July 2022. There she spent her final weeks until her death on 8 September at the age of 96.
In the interview he described the fact that Princess Anne was with her mother at the time of her death as a “pure coincidence”. As a result, she was on her way back and only made a stop at the castle.
In the documentary, Princess Anne also talks about Queen Elizabeth’s funeral at St George’s Church in Windsor. “I felt a strange sense of relief,” she explained. «Now that’s all. Responsibility is transferred.”

Queen Elizabeth was Queen of Great Britain from 1952 until her death in 2022. After the untimely death of her father, King George VI. (†56) became queen at just 25 years old.
