I confess that I have never heard such contradictory opinions from those I have heard about Ferentsvaros, tonight’s opponent of Olympiakos in the UEFA Conference League. What I heard was so contradictory that I sat down to watch the game he played against MTK, his first for the Hungarian league after its winter break. Ferentsvaros beat their opponent 5-1 and I was impressed. But then friends and acquaintances took care to cast doubt on me again by pointing out that the Hungarian league is something like ours – maybe even worse. The leaders (and Ferencvaros are consistently first) use inferior opponents like punching bags, so 5-1 against MTK is nothing but an ordinary result. It is quite possible that the Hungarian league is also a distorting mirror, where the strong look irresistible as is often the case in our own Superliga.
