Turning his head at the moment of the shooting and looking at the screen to watch migration statistics during his presidency saved Trump’s life.
Publika.az reports, US presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke about this during his speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee (Wisconsin).
During his speech, he also agreed to talk about the assassination attempt, but admitted that the memory still hurts him. The ex-president explained that behind him was a big screen showing the number of migrants who crossed the border during his presidency.
“I started to turn my head to the right to look at the screen and I was ready to turn more, but I was very lucky that I didn’t because I heard a buzzing sound and I felt something hit my right ear with great force,” said the ex-president.
Trump added that if he hadn’t made that head move, the bullet would have “hit the target perfectly” and “shouldn’t be here today.” After that, the gathered audience started chanting “should have been”.
Before that, he said that God protected him during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, so he was not too worried about the blood and wounds.
