The Chinese company behind the project is now preparing to unveil its latest two functional innovations at the next CES 2024 in Las Vegas Vegas. These two models are called ProX and GoX. If the characteristics of the second are not yet known, the first will be quite close to the Omega prototype. It is therefore designed for runners, long-distance hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts. It will provide the equivalent of 1 HP, or 800 watts of engine power into your legs to accompany and support them through a motorized joint and eight other passive joints.

The accessory will offset up to 30 pounds of load, which will allow you to carry a large, heavy backpack without tiring on long, steep hikes. ProX improves anticipation and adaptation to user movements, thanks to its integrated artificial intelligence. It can operate at temperatures down to -20° and is resistant to splashes of water. Unlike exoskeletons used in other industries, despite its capabilities, the ProX weighs just two kilos. Folds up completely to be carried on your backpack when not in use. The other major improvement comes from the battery. It has a greater capacity, which allows the autonomy to be extended up to 35 kilometers. The brand’s models, which were initially expected to cost less than 300 euros, are announced at much higher prices, ranging from 600 to 1,300 dollars.

How to travel 25 kilometers on foot carrying a large backpack in the mountains, without getting tired or tired? Aiding walking is exactly what Hypershell offers with its lightweight and discreet Omega exoskeleton.
In the 70s, The man who was worth three billion was an American series whose hero was Steve Austin. After the accident, this test pilot was fitted with bionic prosthetics. They arrived to increase his physical strength tenfold to run faster, lift very heavy loads… It was fifty years ago and it was science fiction.
Today it is not with three billion dollars, but with a few hundred that almost everyone can improve their performance thanks to an exoskeleton. This one from Hypershell is specifically designed to give a boost to your performance on and off the mountain path, i.e. free time activities. Because exoskeletons are often serious.
They generally limit themselves to the professional world or to waging war. For leisure and the general public, the Chinese company Hexoshell therefore offers its Omega exoskeleton at an affordable price. Weighing just two kilos, it is lightweight and designed to be easily transportable. In this way it is possible to use it, for example, for the most strenuous phases of a mountain climb. Folded, the Omega can therefore fit into a backpack of less than 7 liters. Unlike the massive exoskeletons, it is rather discreet.

Hiking assistance
The accessory adapts to the size of the wearer’s legs and runs down from the outside of the thigh to attach to the top of the knees. The belt that carries the electronics, the motor and the batteries has a frame made of |38b2a578130bf8773da96deab7ac6ac9|-magnesiummagnesium. It guarantees sturdiness and lightness to the whole. It is an active joint that gives impulses to the other eight passive joints to train the legs. To assist it, the power of the magnet synchronous motor is only 1 hp. This is enough to provide assistance with up to 33 pounds of thrust. With this Omega the user gets less tired when he has to carry his equipment or climb a steep slope. It can also run like an athlete at speeds of up to 20 km/h.
Its autonomy is 25 kilometers and if this is not enough it is possible to extend it by carrying additional batteries weighing 400 grams both. To ensure smooth movements, a combination of sensors combined with artificial intelligence is in operation. The set allows you to monitor torque, position and force to shape walking and support it. This is all done in milliseconds through two integrated processors.
As for the price, for the moment there are three models offered by the brand. The first is announced for under $300 on Kickstarter. Its power is limited and its speed limited to 12 km/h. The standard model is the one whose maximum speed reaches 20 km/h. It costs $100 more. Finally, the Carbon model, a few hundred grams lighter, is sold for 790 dollars. The marketing of these exoskeletons is expected to start next September.
