As a representative of the Central Election Commission (CEC), the election activity is at the highest level in each of the 35 polling stations that I visited from 8 am to 1 pm. Weather conditions and mood of people are good. Queues were observed at all stations. This is perhaps the first time in recent years that voter turnout is so high.
Publika.az informs that these words were said by doctor of legal sciences, professor Muhammad Imanli in his statement to Telegraf.com.
He said that the people unequivocally accept what a democratic election means.
“Today, it was proved once again that the people are the source of power. I witnessed that people even took their babies and minor children, lined up with their neighbors at the polling stations, and then voted from the heart.
Foreign observers from Europe, the CIS and other countries are interested in people’s participation in the election with such joy. They said how they longed for the expression of the will of the people to elect their leader. I met representatives of the OSCE in one of the stations located in Balakhani. They said that this is the first time we have seen such a massive turnout in an election. They said that the election environment in Azerbaijan is at the highest level. People come to vote for the candidate they want. I think this will be an example to the world as the first and biggest election in the history of independent Azerbaijan. Together with both foreign and local representatives, we observed more than 15 polling stations, and their general opinion was that the best election activity is observed in Azerbaijan.”
Mohammad Imanli emphasized that they are also in contact with their colleagues in Khankendi.
“I also visited the Khankendi electoral district in Baku, people originally from Khankendi came to vote in the territory where they were temporarily registered. There were more than 700 voters on the list for that district, and more than 150 of our citizens stood in line, treating each other with respect. The voters said that they consider participation in this election to be the most successful day for them. I think that this election will be useful for the state of Azerbaijan and our nation, including for the future of our country. Our example left the worst souls of the West and other countries that do not like Azerbaijan in their hearts. The love of the people expressed today”.
