For the third time this week, an explosion occurred in the Koekoekstraat in Vlaardingen. Nobody was injured. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

An explosion also occurred in the same house during the night between Monday and Tuesday. The day before there was an explosion in the neighbors. The police are conducting an investigation. No suspect has yet been arrested, reports the Rotterdam unit on X. At the request of the Rotterdam police, the municipality of Vlaardingen installed a camera in the Koekoekstraat this morning.

Local residents are in the dark as to why. “That man lives there alone with his son, I don’t know why he should be a target,” one resident told Rijnmond. Another neighbor suggests: “Maybe it’s just the wrong address. The police should be on the streets more often at night.”

Anguish

An 83-year-old couple lives in the other affected house. The explosion caused a small fire in front of the house which was quickly put out. They are shocked and scared.

Their neighbors are also worried. “I am scared for my family and now I will hang cameras in front and behind the house.”

Vlaardingen has been plagued by explosions and car fires for weeks. Many of these are intended for a plumbing company’s buildings and vehicles. It is not known why the man is systematically attacked. Police say they do not believe last night’s explosion was part of the series.
