Third APEC 2024 officials meeting begins

From Sunday 11th to 25th August, the Lima Convention Centerlocated in the district of Saint Borjahosts the Third Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Senior Officials Meeting and related meetings.

This event brings together delegates from the 21 APEC member economies for the purpose of Strengthening collaboration in several crucial areas for the region.

One of the most important events will be the 14th Ministerial Meeting on Energywhich will take place on August 15 and 16, and will feature the participation of the Ministers of Energy of the member economies.

In this framework, Peru has presented for the first time in the history of APEC a proposal to develop guidelines on the Implementation of low-carbon hydrogen in the regionsince this type of hydrogen is a promising energy source to reduce emissions in various sectors.

The 14th High-Level Meeting on Health and the Economy will also be held on August 18. Peru is chairing this ministerial meeting under the motto “Inclusive health: the path to empowerment and growth to leave no one behind“with the aim of fostering dialogue on creating inclusive health systems that can meet future challenges.

The meetings will conclude with the third senior officials meeting on Sunday, August 25, where the agreements reached to that point will be reviewed in preparation for APEC Economic Leaders Week, which will take place from November 10-16 in Lima.

In addition, in Trujilloregion Freedomwill be carried out 9th APEC Ministerial Meeting on Food Security and related events.

This meeting will be attended by officials from the 21 APEC member economies and will take place from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th August.

For this meeting, the police have allocated 1,200 officers in Trujillo to strengthen the citizen security measures for the duration of the Asia-Pacific Forum.
