Thiago Brennand was sentenced to eight years of prison for the crime of rape in a first closed regime. The sentence was announced this Thursday (18) and There is still appeal. This is the businessman’s third conviction, who is accused in other cases in Porto Feliz (SP) and São Paulo (SP) and is in pre-trial detention.

The decision of the Court of São Paulo, issued by Judge Raisa Alcântara Cruvinel Schneidero, of the Forum of Porto Feliz (SP), establishes that Brennand will have to compensate the victim for moral damages in the amount of R$50,000. The complaint concerns the case of a masseuse who claims to have been raped by the entrepreneur in her villa, in a condominium in the city.

With this the entrepreneur has three convictions in the first degree. In October Brennand was sentenced to 10 years and six months in prison, also for the crime of rape. In the decision, Judge Israel Salu, of the Porto Feliz Forum, also established that he will have to compensate the victim for moral damages in the amount of R $ 50,000.

In this case the victim is an American living in Brazil and her identity has not been revealed. According to the Prosecutor, she met the businessman when she intended to buy a horse and she also claims to have been raped by Brennand in his mansionin an apartment building in the city.

At the time, Brennand’s defense informed, in a note, that the conviction was “based exclusively on the words of the victim, completely dissociated from all the evidence collected during the investigation, which demonstrated in crystal clear form that the accused had never committed sexual violence”.

In the capital Brennand is accused in three other cases.
