While the National Institute of Health determines whether the death of two people in Cesar was due to dengue, the Departmental Health Secretariat alerts the population about the importance of avoiding the spread of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, especially because the high temperatures They facilitate the hatching of eggs and propagation of the transmitting vector.
Of the 479 cases of dengue registered so far in the department, 13 are considered serious, 300 are alarming and 166 are mild. The incidence of dengue per 100 thousand inhabitants of the population at risk is 32.5.
The municipalities that have reported cases so far are: Valledupar (37.8%), Aguachica (14.8%), Codazzi (7.9%) and Bosconia (6.5%). 50.7% of the patients are men; 21 of them under 1 year old; while 60.1% are under 15 years old.
