While there is secrecy on the part of the central authorities of the ISSSTE about the status of the work of the High Specialty Regional Hospital (HRAE) of Torreón, Section XI of the Workers’ Union in Coahuila reported another possible date to inaugurate the clinic, which It would be July 1, 2024.

“They have planned to open that hospital on a new inauguration date, which would be July 1st, certainty that the work will be completed, because the truth is we as a Union do not have it, but at least, in the administration that is a new date that they have planned to inaugurate the work,” said Alberto Galván Zurita, general secretary of said union section.

Originally, the turnkey project was promised for the end of March of this year and later, the Central Level of the Institute informed El Siglo de Torreón that the completion of the work would be on May 31. In addition, the investment amount was updated, which went from three thousand 028 million pesos to three thousand 565 million 797 thousand 844 pesos.

The union leader said that surely due to issues of logistics, obtaining permits and testing of high-tech equipment and electrical and hydraulic networks, the work has been delayed.

“At least what we know indirectly is that they are in that testing stage. The hospital is scheduled to open in three stages, I think that if they hurry, possibly the first stage could be functional (by July 1) ), which would practically be first contact, emergencies, outpatient consultation, some hospitalization areas that do not include critical areas, things that are more of a first, second level,” he explained.

He recalled that after the Ministry of Finance released the budget item for the human resources of the HRAE in April of this year, the newly created positions began to be announced via ladder so that basic workers could participate. Once the list was exhausted, the positions were declared vacant so they are already in the job pool nomination process. Zurita said that this procedure could take a little more than a week. At the end of November 2023, the ISSSTE launched the call to recruit people interested in occupying administrative and health positions for the HRAE, which at that time would require 1,296 positions, in 56 categories.

The HRAE will have 250 census beds and will benefit around one million 781 thousand 112 beneficiaries from states such as Coahuila, Zacatecas, Durango and Chihuahua.
