They remember when Lorena Herrera appeared at the Telethon with a stripper show

The Telethon is one of the programs most remembered by the Mexican public, since, in addition to being a live show full of national and international music and performance stars, it was done for a cause to support children with different types of disabilities.

Throughout practically an entire weekend, continuously, a show was broadcast live that had the presence of Televisa’s most important hosts such as Galilea Montijo, Marco Antonio Regil and even the singer Lucero. All this with the purpose of raising funds to open new Telethon centers with the purpose of supporting low-income children with disabilities.

The program, which was for all ages, was attended by families and children who had received support, as well as those who witnessed live performances by singers of the moment.

Stars like Selena Gomez, Avril Lavigne, Laura Pausini, Danna Paola, Belinda and the Black Eyed Peas are just some of the stars who came to perform.

However, despite the familiar tone of the program, at one point a live performance occurred that to this day continues to spark controversy due to the erotic content that was witnessed live.

It was in 1997 when Lorena Herrera was in the middle of promoting her hit Desnudame el alma, a song that to this day remains an anthem within the LGBTIQ+ community, however, beyond the lyrical content of this song, it impacted the “performance” that Lorena performed, since she appeared with very little clothing.

In the performance, Lorena appears apparently wearing only a bath towel, as do her dancers. At one point, Lorena takes off the towel to reveal that she is wearing a blue minidress. However, in the midst of sensual steps, Lorena’s male dancers remove their towel to reveal that they are wearing only a thong.

The video of Lorena’s presentation began to circulate on social networks, surprising more than one because of how risque her appearance at the Telethon was.
