As a preliminary matter, I apologize to the readers for referring to myself, hoping that they will kindly understand this self-reference. Let us remember that this PRICT, after it was withdrawn from the decision process by the Tarapacá Regional Comptroller’s Office, due to undue interference by a senator with a Teutonic surname and the then regional mayor of the Piñera government, several clever businessmen took advantage of obtaining building permits that violated said higher-ranking regulatory instrument. This happened because the communal authorities of Iquique, disobeying the mandate of article 38 of the General Law of Urban Planning and Construction (LGUC), did not incorporate into the old PRC the most restrictive urban regulations considered in the PRICT, which, in any case , is valid from mid-2022.
Now the story is repeating itself, because the PRC of Iquique, prepared by the Habiterra Consulting Company, is being objected to by certain interested parties who exert pressure, via influence, so that the respective Municipal Council does not approve it and in this regard, some time ago I received a WhatsApp from a distinguished lawyer, who proposed that I become a millionaire if I publicly opposed that PRC. I thanked him for his tempting offer, answering that having a lot of money generates various problems and that, because I do not know how to financially manage high net worth, I preferred not to accept his kind proposal, adding, furthermore, that I was in favor of the prompt validity of that instrument. communal regulator in Iquique.
Reporting other indecorous events that occur in our beloved country, the press has published with different emphasis what is happening with the Sierra Bella clinic that the municipality of Santiago was trying to buy and with the acquisition of land for a Cesfam, by the municipality of Las Condes, an institution that is characterized by paying overtime not worked to some of its officials. It is clear that in both cases raised prices were contemplated that favored property sellers and brokers.
But we learned that, regarding the above, the president of the State Defense Council (CDE), Raúl Letelier, was recently interviewed by the CNN television channel, where, among other things associated with corruption, the 2 situations outlined were addressed. and since the press dependent on economic power alludes with high-caliber epithets to the commercial operation not carried out by the municipality of Santiago and with a silk hand the purchase made by the Municipality of Las Condes, below we reproduce what Letelier said:
