“The Israeli police’s action in arresting the Grand Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri on Friday, August 2, 2024, truly reflects the arbitrary actions carried out by the Israeli government,” said Anwar Abbas, Saturday (3/8/2024).
Anwar also considered the Israeli government’s actions no longer respect the religion and beliefs of Muslims. In fact, according to him, the actions also did not pay attention to humanity and justice at all.
In fact, at that time, he said, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri was leading a prayer in absentia for Ismail Haniyeh, a Palestinian figure who is the leader of Hamas. Ismail Haniyeh was killed while visiting Tehran, Iran for the inauguration of the new President of Iran.
“The Israeli government no longer respects the religious teachings and beliefs of Muslims and no longer pays any attention to the values of humanity and justice,” explained Anwar Abbas.
Anwar hopes that the world community will punish Israel by isolating the country from world relations. Anwar also encourages stopping all forms of trade, both exports and imports, with the country of Israel.
“It is time for the world community to teach Israel a lesson so that the country stops all its barbaric actions and returns the land and territory it occupies to the Palestinian people,” Anwar stressed.
“Because in this way, peace and peaceful coexistence in the region can be realized,” he continued.
