An evening of sport, lights, fun and solidarity will be experienced next Saturday, April 27 in this city, when the first edition of the “5K Race to the Future – Mind, Body and Spirit in Harmony” takes place, which is for the benefit of civil associations that work for the well-being of boys and girls in La Laguna.
Through a press conference, this Tuesday the details of this athletic event were announced that gives Laguneros the opportunity to play sports, in addition to helping a noble cause, at an unusual time for athletic races, as it will be held in Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. The information meeting was led by Ana María Rendón, from the Asociación Desarrollo Integral del Menor, who was accompanied by Mónica E. Issa, from the Espíritu que Danza Association, as well as Rosy Morales, from a well-known chain of wholesale self-service stores that It will be the starting and finishing point of the race, as well as Alfredo Alemán Baños, from the Carreras MX promoter, representatives of sponsoring brands and athletic clubs that will participate in the competition also attended.
This race was born with the objective of promoting the care of boys and girls, so it was planned to take place around Children’s Day and will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the children’s category races, which will last one hour. The children’s categories will have different distances, according to the ages: the category up to 4 years old will have a 50-meter course, the category from 5 to 6 years old will be 100 meters, from 7 to 8 years old will run 200 meters, from 9 to 10 years old will run a distance of 400 meters, from 11 to 12 years old they will run 600 meters and from 13 to 14 years old they will run 800 meters.
Once the children’s races are over, the 5 kilometer race will begin at 7:00 p.m., starting at the wholesale shopping center, located at the confluence of Revolución Boulevard and Saltillo 400 road. The route will begin at the store parking lot, to cross Saltillo 400 through an overpass and end up in another parking lot, they will take the road and through the Paseo del Olimpo they will arrive at the Campestre La Rosita neighborhood, where they will make a circuit through iconic buildings in the area, like the Parish of Our Lady of the Incarnation.
After passing through Campestre, they will return to the Saltillo 400 and once again they will go through the overpass to reach the point where they previously started and where the META will be located. Registration is now available with the popular “Yayo” in the Bosque Venustiano Carranza, as well as in the offices of Desarrollo Integral del Menor (DIME) and Espíritu que Danza AC, as well as electronically on the Carreras MX website.
