MEXICO CITY (apro).- In the Tlalpan mayor’s office, 46 dogs were rescued from an abandoned building that functioned as a boarding house, during a search carried out by elements of the Animal Surveillance Brigade (BVA) of the Ministry of Citizen Security ( SSC), in coordination with personnel from the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) and the Environmental and Territorial Planning Attorney’s Office (PAOT).

The agency headed by Pablo Vázquez pointed out that the search warrant was released by a control judge for the crimes of animal abuse and cruelty. In addition, it detailed that the rescuers identified two puppies that had a delicate health condition, one of them with a fracture in the leg and another with symptoms of malnutrition and severe dehydration, so they were transferred to the BVA facilities in Xochimilco, where they will receive comprehensive care.

In a statement, he reported that to carry out the court order, the brigade members went to a home located in the La Loma neighborhood, where they found and protected 27 males and 19 females, which were checked by a PAOT veterinarian.

Afterwards, the authorities fed the puppies and transferred them to different clinics to be evaluated, as well as to temporary homes and other animal help centers. After the search, the property was sealed and under police guard.
