They guide parents who reported the theft of 200 thousand pesos for school

The regional coordination of the Wellbeing Programs in La Laguna de Coahuila is providing support to parents of the “Profesora Gloria Ayala Maldonado” Kindergarten in the Residencial del Norte neighborhood of Torreón who recently reported an alleged theft of resources from the federal program The School is Ours (LEEN) by a mother who served as the treasurer of the School Committee for Participatory Administration (CEAP).

The woman is the mother of two children who were enrolled in the school and was accused of allegedly taking 200 thousand pesos in cash; Until now her whereabouts are unknown.

In the current school year they received 600 thousand pesos as part of LEEN and the first thing they did was rehabilitate the Kindergarten schoolyard at a cost of 400 thousand pesos and for this, they selected a supplier, who asked them for an advance payment of the 50 percent. The then treasurer deposited the advance but when the rest had to be delivered, she fled.

The regional coordinator, Karla Zamora, said that they have been providing them with guidance on how to file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), this because the Welfare Secretariat cannot intervene in the presentation of the same. “But they, as members of the Committee, are the ones who have to take charge of filing the complaints,” she said.

He mentioned that in each school benefiting from the federal program, there is a public servant (facilitator) who is authorized and coordinated by the Ministry of Welfare to follow up on all the procedures carried out by the CEAP, especially when these problems arise.

It must be remembered that the CEAP, through its treasurer (o), are the sole and absolute responsible for the provision, reception, custody, administration and exercise of the subsidy. They must be accountable to the federal government for spending. The CEAP are made up of the presidency, technical secretariat, treasury and members; all proposed by the same parents. Zamora said that the fact will be reported to the Public Service so there is no risk that the preschool school will be left out of the program.
