Within the scope of Operation Lapacho implemented by the Ministry of Security, members of the April 7 Border Detachment seized the plant substance that was detected using a portable scanner.
It happened in the early hours of this Saturday, according to authorities from the General Directorate of Special Units. The discovery occurred around 04:00, when personnel stationed at the border detachment carried out the operation and proceeded to control and stop the march of a parcel truck with a semi-trailer.
“From a routine inspection carried out on the transported parcels, it was possible to identify a rectangular package, packed in black plastic that gave off a strong aroma, which apparently could be marijuana and motivated the intervention of the East Dangerous Drugs Directorate,” detailed the inspector commissioner Rufino Medina.
After using a scanner, it was confirmed that it was a narcotic substance. After communicating the news to Federal Court No. 1, the seizure of the plant was ordered, a total of 1,160 grams of compacted marijuana flower.
