An interdisciplinary team from the Government of Cesar and the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences recently inspected the properties where they are analyzing building the morgue for the municipality of Aguachica.
The initiative aims to comply with the judicial order issued by the first instance section of the JEP, for cases of lack of recognition of truth and responsibility.
One of the lands is located in the Jerusalem neighborhood and the second is located near Nutresa, in which the technical and general conditions will be evaluated to verify that it meets the requirements demanded by the JEP and Legal Medicine.
«What we want is to give dignity and humanize the services of the deceased, especially of the people who died and who are in search of an identification, that is why the JEP has not only determined the creation of a headquarters for the creation of autopsies legal medicine, but also wants compliance with regulations that are national laws, referring to a sanctuary of memory for those missing people,” reported Jorge Humberto Rueda, Northeast regional director of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.
The JEP also determined that vaults need to be built for nearly a thousand corpses.
It should be noted that some commitments were made by the municipal planning secretariat, among them the authorization of public services, starting with the ESPA with a certification specifying that sewage networks can be built on the property chosen.
