As part of the activities of the third Sunday of Lent, Catholic faithful participate in the procession of Jesús Nazareno de Jocotenango, “El Dulce Rabí” in Antigua Guatemala. According to the schedule for this Sunday, March 3, 2024, the walk left the temple at 8:00 a.m.
Along with the image of the Nazarene, the consecrated image of the Blessed Virgin of Dolores is also carried on shoulders, the Brotherhood of Jocotenango reported through their social networks.
Outside the facilities of the temple of Nuestra Señora De La Asunción, Jocotenango, hundreds of faithful prepared carpets for the passage of the procession.
From very early on, neighbors took to the streets to create different designs with colored sawdust, molds and floral arrangements.
As for the route, it is planned that the image will pass through the Plazuela at 2:00 p.m. and through San Sebastián at 5:00 p.m.
The bus will arrive at the Central Park of Antigua Guatemala at 8:00 p.m. and at San Felipe de Jesús at 10:00 p.m.
The return of the procession is scheduled for 11:00 p.m., the organizers indicated.

Altars for Jesus Nazarene “El Dulce Rabí”
Devotees of the image of Jesús Nazareno de Jocotenango, “El Dulce Rabí”, also prepared altars throughout the procession route.
According to tradition, the procession stops in front of these altars to offer prayers from the participating parishioners.
