They disperse trans march with gases in Zócalo of CDMX; María Clemente García accuses the 4T of betrayal

MEXICO CITY (process.con.mx).-Members of the trans community in Mexico held a march for the International Day of Trans Visibility that ended with accusations of betrayal of the Fourth Transformation and attacks with “gas” from behind the metal fences that protected the National Palace.

In a video broadcast on her Then came the accusation:

“Today I accompanied my colleagues to the #Trans #NB #March for the 31M International Day of Trans Visibility, in the palace they received us with blows and gas, the 4T is forgetting the maxim that FOR THE GOOD OF ALL, FIRST THE POOR,” he wrote.

In the video, the activist added: “Hello. I am here in the Zócalo with my fellow marchers. We have just been attacked by the police and they are spraying us with gas, as you can see. “The trans population does not deserve this, the 4T betrays the people of Mexico!”

On March 20, legislator María Clemente García asked the LGBTTIQ+ community not to vote for Claudia Sheinbaum or Xóchitl Gálvez, after the parliamentary groups have delayed a minute on the discussion on conversion therapies.

Another member of said community, identified as Daniel Ortiz de Montellano, also uploaded videos to his X account in which a similar scene is seen and accused:

“In addition to the fact that the grenadier corps of the national palace used tear gas on more than one occasion, in less than 1 hour the passage of the interventions carried out within the framework of the Trans March was cleared. I wish trans lives would be protected this way.

The march left from the Senate of the Republic to the capital’s Zócalo with the demand for the approval of the Comprehensive Trans Law that proposes to guarantee fundamental rights such as health, education, work, security and housing for said community.

The violence allegedly began when some members tried to jump over the fences that protected the National Palace and police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security received them with what they say was powder from fire extinguishers to disperse them, although some protesters accused it of being tear gas.

Among the slogans heard at the demonstration were “It is not illegal for trans people” and “The police do not take care of me, my friends take care of me.”
