MEXICO CITY (process.com.mx).–The national president of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, was reported to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) by deputy Miguel Prado, Secretary of the Surveillance Commission of the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) in Congress, for a possible diversion of almost 4 billion pesos of federal resources.
According to the complaint and according to reviews by the ASF, the crimes would have been committed between September 16, 2015 and June 13, 2019, when “Alito”, as the PRI leader is known, was governor of Campeche.
The accusation is combined with probable acts of influence peddling, diversion of federal funds, acts of corruption, money laundering, illicit enrichment, tax fraud, embezzlement, illicit use of powers or powers and operations with resources of illicit origin.
According to the reviews made by the ASF of Moreno Cárdenas’ management, 92 irregularities have been detected between 2016 and 2019 with emphasis on the areas of Health and payroll; The damage to the Federal Public Treasury would be for an amount that exceeds 3,941 million pesos.
Among Representative Prado’s observations is the alleged increase in the assets of Moreno Cárdenas and his family during his term as governor, which is disproportionate to his declared income as a public servant.
Said enrichment would be exhibited in the purchase of million-dollar properties.
The complaint by Congressman Miguel Prado seeks to investigate and disqualify Moreno Cárdenas, as well as any other person involved, from holding public office for up to 20 years.
Likewise, the seizure of their assets and bank accounts is requested, as a precautionary measure.
The complaint was presented to the Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Hertz Manero, and the head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Corruption, María de la Luz Mijangos Borja.
As is known, since August 2022, the Attorney General of Campeche, Renato Sales Heredia, requested the removal of Morena Cárdenas from immunity. The arguments of said prosecution precisely refer to the increase in the patrimonial wealth of the current national leader of the PRI and the disparity of these with his income as a public servant.
The case of violation of immunity has been stagnant since then, while Prado’s complaint seeks that the matter be investigated in the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic as well as in the specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Alejandro Moreno is currently a federal deputy and leader of the PRI.
