They cremate bodies of deceased migrants

Thanks to the support of the community, but especially from the Ángeles de Nazareno collective, it was possible to gather the resources to cremate the bodies of the two and four-year-old girls, as well as the 18-year-old boy, who lost their lives after falling from the train in which they intended to travel to the border with the United States.

The relatives of the victims have not yet determined if the ashes will be repatriated to Venezuela, if they will stay in the region or if they will travel with them in search of reaching the neighboring country, as were their plans.

Wendy Olvera, president of the group that opened its doors to them and supported this difficult process, commented that this Saturday a mass could be offered for the eternal rest of Aylana, 2 years old; Kailany, 4, as well as Jaminson, 18 years old, who lost their lives last Thursday in the Nazareno community.

He commented that taking advantage of the pain of the little girls’ parents and the young man’s brother, a funeral company published on social networks that it would bear the funeral expenses, a fact that was denied.

“I called the person in charge, she never answered me, at first they told me that it was her number, and when I called again she said that it was the wrong number. It’s false,” said Wendy, who mentioned that these types of actions damage the work that she does. have been doing for these relatives, and for the thousands of migrants who have passed through this community.

On the other hand, he commented that the families are not yet in the mood to decide what will happen to the ashes. In addition, he said that as soon as that happens, the intervention of the Venezuelan embassy and the National Migration Institute (INM) will be requested, which he assured, have provided kind treatment.

“The embassy still does not know if they are going to repatriate them. The moment they decide to repatriate the bodies, that is where it comes in, but they are at the disposal of the decision they make. They gave them time for the parents to make a calmer decision,” Wendy shared.
