They commemorate International Dance Day with various activities

With panoramas for all citizens, this Monday, April 29, International Dance Day will be commemorated, a date proclaimed by UNESCO in 1982 in honor of the birth of the French dancer and choreographer Jean-Georges Noverre, considered the creator of modern ballet.

As part of this day, activities will be carried out in different regions of the country, ranging from live performances and workshops, to the launch of archiving and dissemination initiatives around dance.

In the Cultural Park of Valparaíso, on Friday, May 3, the Regional Meeting of Dance Artists and Agents will be held. Aimed at professionals and organizations from the fifth region, this meeting is an initiative promoted by Escenalborde and has the support of the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Cultures, Arts and Heritage of Valparaíso.

Also in the Metropolitan Region, a special performance will be held for students from educational establishments run by the Danza en Cruz company, winners of the President of the Republic National Performing Arts Award 2023. This activity will take place on Monday, April 29, at 10:30 a.m., at the San Joaquín Municipal Theater.

In addition, on April 29, at 7:00 p.m., at the Lo Prado Cultural Center, a performance open to the public will be offered by the Spiral Dance Company and the Movimiento Company. Organized by the National Union of Dance Artists Workers (Sinattad), this presentation is part of the launch of Patricio Bunster’s centenary.

Another of the featured activities will occur in the Los Ríos Region, where Cecrea Valdivia and the Dancers of Los Ríos Cultural Center have organized a special billboard that includes creative laboratories for girls, boys and young people from 7 to 20 years old, as well as dance samples open to the community. All activities will take place on Monday, April 29, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., at the Cecrea Valdivia.

In other formats, Dance Day will offer activities such as the live broadcast of a daily physical training class from the Santiago Ballet. This class will be shown through the YouTube channel of the Municipal Theater of Santiago, on April 29, between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.

Also on April 29, at 9:00 p.m., the launch of DanzaTV will take place, an online platform that will offer exclusive material such as series, documentaries, video dance, medium-length films, among other content from more than 100 national dance artists. The official presentation of this platform will take place through the DanzaTV YouTube channel.
