They charge and request preventive detention for the mayor accused of sexual harassment

The mayor of the city of Acahay, Aldo Lezcano, was charged yesterday by prosecutor Alcides Espínola, who requested his preventive detention, in the case being followed for sexual coercion, rape and other crimes for which he had been denounced by a former local municipality official.

Lawyer Óscar Tuma, Lezcano’s defender, rejected all accusations and stated that the mayor had had a relationship with the complainant and stated that the complaint was false and extortionate.

Prosecutor Lezcano claims, however, to have several elements such as filming, audio, testimonies from witnesses and the alleged victim, which can support the accusation. The complaint indicates that the former official would have suffered systematic sexual harassment since 2021, which has worsened over the years.

According to lawyer Tuma, the complaint is totally false and that the woman is used to blackmailing people. In addition, at the time he spoke about some audios that show that both had a relationship and that the videos were part of a deal they had.
