A subject belonging to gang groups and who was dedicated to drug trafficking was captured by elements of the National Civil Police (PNC) in a sector of Sonsonate, as confirmed by the police institution this Thursday.
The detainee goes by the name of José Rufino Burgos Espinoza, 29 years old, profiled as a homeboy of the Acajutla Locos Salvatruchos clique of the MS13 gang that operates in the western part of the country.
According to the authorities, this subject was in charge of selling drugs to finance the gang and was the one who controlled the accounting of profits from the sale of illicit substances.
At the time of his capture, carried out in the Santa Eduviges neighborhood, in Sonsonate, police authorities seized more than $30,000 in drugs.
The detainee will be prosecuted for the crimes of illicit groups and illicit drug trafficking.
