They announce the creation of the SIMSA-LUZAC Institute in Torreón

In order to ensure high-level academic continuity for students of the SER Schools Network and to expand the educational offer of excellence for the youth of the Lagunera Region, Grupo SIMSA, the LUZAC Educational System and Grupo Lala joined forces to consolidate the SIMSA-LUZAC Institute, Miriam Tafich de Issa campus, at the upper secondary level.

The general high school will begin activities next school year 2024-2025, with 210 students in the first semester, in the morning shift, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Subsequently, We will seek to expand enrollment to just over 600 students. The Curriculum introduces six semesters with optional options A and B in the final year and there will be a training component for work in IT.

The latter, if they wish, will allow them to integrate into work activity efficiently, as computer technicians.

Javier Aguiñaga, representative of Grupo SIMSA, said that in recent years they have strengthened their social participation in constant support for sports, culture, people with different needs and education. “That is why I am pleased to present to you on this day the beginning of the Institute that will bear the name of Mrs. Miriam Tafich de Issa, wife of Don Salomón Issa, may she rest in peace and who was the founder of the Group which I represent,” he explained.

For his part, Edgar Salinas Uribe, director of Fundación Lala, commented that the SER School Network in La Laguna has primary and secondary levels, so An allied institution was sought that could have high academic demands and provide continuity to the training of young people who graduate

“The search for an allied institution that demanded a high academic level led to the choice of LUZAC High School, recognized for its performance and educational tradition. We agree on purposes and interests and we want to communicate this alliance with the support of Grupo SIMSA, Fundación Lala and the Eduardo Tricio Gómez Foundation to launch this new LUZAC-SIMSA campus,” he said. He added that through this initiative, the schools belonging to the SER educational program will have full scholarships so that students can continue their studies at the high school level.
