They achieve agreements to face electrical crisis in Cesar

In response to the recent protests on the constant failures in the electric service, which included the locking of the East trunk in Curumaní, the Cesar Government led a high -level concertation table in which important agreements were achieved to mitigate the energy crisis that affects several municipalities of the department.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Minister of Mines and Energy, Karen Schutt; the governor of Cesar, Elvia Milena Sanjuan; the mayors of Curumaní, Hermes Martínez; from San Diego, Unaldo Rocha; and from Chiriguaná, Juan Carlos García. Representatives of the Public Ministry, the company AFINIA – EPM, community leaders and spokesmen of the service users, also attended.

During the day, key decisions were made that will allow progress in the improvement of the region’s electrical infrastructure, historically affected by constant cuts, low voltage and coverage deficiencies.

Among the agreements achieved,: RECONDUCTION OF THE AURORA LINE – CHIRIGUANÁ: AFINIA will intervene 11 kilometers of this transmission line before December 2025. Although the resources are already assigned, the project requires authorization from the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), because part of the layout passes through land under its control.

Scheduled disconnections and previous socialization: each technical intervention will be informed and coordinated with communities to minimize the impact on the daily life of users.

Preventive maintenance: It was agreed to facilitate pruning and access to properties, which will reduce service interruptions due to line failures.

Electrical formalization in subnormal sectors: a process will begin to guarantee formal access to the service in non -regularized neighborhoods, a measure considered essential to improve supply quality and promote energy inclusion.
