Thessaloniki: He tried to rape a 33-year-old woman at the entrance to an apartment building – An arrest warrant was pending against him

A 33-year-old woman in the center of Thessaloniki experienced absolute terror yesterday morning, when a 34-year-old man followed her to the apartment building where she lived, managed to enter and tried to rape her after first hitting her.

According to the EL.AS announcement, the man was dragging her by pulling her clothes and beating her.

Fortunately for her, as reported by thestival.gr, the 33-year-old managed to escape from the hands of her near-rapist and started calling for help. Police officers patrolling the wider area immediately rushed to the scene and a little later managed to arrest the 34-year-old assailant.

From the investigation that followed, it was established that an arrest and temporary detention warrant was pending against the 34-year-old for the offenses of rape, domestic violence, threats and theft.

Police officers of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Department, during their patrol in the wider area of ​​the city center, in the early hours of 05-31-2024, noticed a woman looking for help.

During the investigation of the incident, it emerged that shortly before, a 34-year-old foreigner followed her inside the building where she lives and with continuous use of physical violence dragged her by pulling her clothes.

The patient, who is a 33-year-old foreigner, managed to get out of the apartment building, while the police immediately searched for and arrested the perpetrator.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
