The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) published the school calendars which include the days off that will be had in the 2024-2025 school year.
In the 190 and 195 day school calendars, classes begin in August. In both cases there are several days of work suspension from the beginning of the period.
Here we share what these days will be:
The calendar will have eight ordinary CTE sessions that will be on the last Friday of each month, that is: September 27, October 25, November 29, January 31, February 28, March 28, May 30 and June 27.
Seven days of suspension from teaching duties: September 16 and November 18, 2024; February 3, March 17, May 1, 5 and 15, 2025.
The winter vacation period will be:
The winter vacation period will be December 19, 2024 and concludes the January 8, 2025; for Holy Week, from April 14 to 25.
In total there will be 36 days off, including vacations, holidays and teacher sessions.
The scheduled dates are subject to future changes or cancellations, for example on the days of the Technical Councils.

To mitigate the weather conditions in La Laguna for this return to school, 80 percent of the more than 500 public basic education schools in La Laguna de Coahuila incorporated into the federal program La Escuela es Nuestra (PLEEN) have used most of the economic resources they receive in the acquisition of air conditioning systems and rehabilitation of electrical installations.
In Torreón alone, there are 320 educational institutions participating in this program.
