According to the doctor, inorganic arsenic is present in the soil, groundwater, open water bodies, and even in the air. Accordingly, it enters plants from the soil, and water contaminated with this substance is sometimes used in households. In addition, arsenic in water bodies can accumulate in the organisms of marine animals. Arsenic content is particularly high in fish, shrimps, crabs, crustaceans, and also in apples, lettuce, potatoes, rice and grapes, milk and milk products.
“The safe daily intake of arsenic for adults is believed to be no more than 15 mcg. If these levels are regularly exceeded, chronic arsenic poisoning can develop. Its symptoms include: diarrhea, thickening of the skin of the palms and soles, baldness, enlarged liver, toxic neuropathy (in the hands and feet (irritation, cramping, and burning sensation) Chronic arsenic poisoning has also been shown to significantly increase the risk of developing skin and lung cancer, as well as angiosarcoma, a malignant tumor formed from vascular cells.
To reduce the risk of arsenic poisoning, you should only drink clean water or avoid using water from open reservoirs for cooking.
