Publika.az Olga Dekker, a nutritionist, a member of the National Society of Dietitians and Nutritionists and a member of the European Association for the Study of Obesity, mentioned this in an interview with “Gazeta.ru”. In addition, our brain will not be “happy” with products containing alcohol, dyes and preservatives.

According to the expert, when planning a diet, it is advisable to eliminate substances that will deprive the brain of essential nutrients, or even cause additional problems such as inflammation or oxidative stress.

“For example, excess saturated fat in foods such as fatty meats and dairy products can cause inflammation and disruption of the neurotransmitter system in the brain, which can negatively affect mood, memory and concentration,” the expert said.

The nutritionist noted that quickly digestible carbohydrates are the most harmful products for brain function, primarily sweets and white bread. They cause spikes in blood sugar levels, which impair the brain’s cognitive functions. In addition, sugar overload can cause inflammation, impair memory and concentration, and increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
