These foods are useful for preventing measles – 2024-02-18 01:26:22

Unfortunately, there is no complete protection against measles infection. There is simply a medical procedure that strengthens the immune system. Treatment of children infected with measles should be aimed primarily at relieving symptoms, preventing complications, and ensuring proper rest and fluid intake.

Publika.az informs that these words were said by pediatrician, doctor-allergist Khayala Guliyeva in her statement to Akhar.az.

According to him, the treatment is prescribed according to the symptoms of the disease:

“For example, if there is fever or cough, they are given appropriate pills. Basically, vitamin A is recommended as a medicine that can prevent the aggravation of the disease. This vitamin protects against meningitis, otitis, pneumonia, and most importantly, vision problems. If a measles infection has been diagnosed, vitamin A must be taken. As for the symptoms of the disease, they are puffiness in the eyes, redness, cough and eventually fever. Rashes appear on the body of those infected with measles after a few days. Rashes appear on the face and ears on the first day, the next day they spread to the neck and upper limbs, and the following days to the lower limbs.

The expert emphasized that during this period, foods rich in vitamin A should be taken:

“Here are dairy products, oranges, carrots, etc. includes. At the same time, plenty of fluids should be taken, because the skin loses water and becomes dehydrated during the disease. The patient should go to bed and not be in contact with anyone. Another way of protection is vaccination. It is recommended to keep a child infected with measles in a separate room. The room should be ventilated often, sunlight should be controlled, and the humidity in the room should be monitored. Those who take care of them should use a protective mask. Vaccination is done between 1 and 6 years of age. If not vaccinated at the age of 1, then by the age of 6, if not at the age of 6, by the age of 10. In general, if he has not received the vaccine dose, he can be vaccinated after the age of 6 with certain supervision.”
