Intestinal polyps, gastritis, anal fissures in chronic course can lead to the development of cancer.
Publika.az Oncologist-gynecologist Yekaterina Timofeyeva informed “FederalPress” about this.
“This happens, for example, with constant inflammation. Thanks to this, the cells are constantly renewed, which increases the risk of their breakdown and the formation of cancer cells.
Precancerous conditions are divided into obligate (will definitely turn into cancer without treatment) and facultative (they do not always turn into cancer). The first of these includes familial colon polyposis, severe cervical dysplasia, as well as Queyre’s erythroplasia, Dubreuil melanosis, Bowen’s disease, and true leukoplakia.
Often, but not always, they turn into cancer: gastric ulcer, atrophic gastritis, anal fissures, senile keratoses,” the oncologist said.
“Therefore, if you have a chronic disease, it is important to consult a specialist doctor and undergo examinations. For example, polyps in the intestines require periodic colonoscopy. Because this will prevent the development of cancer or detect it at an early stage, when the treatment is most effective,” the doctor stressed. .
You should also follow the general rules of cancer prevention: use SPF protective creams, do not visit the solarium, do sports, lead an active lifestyle and maintain an optimal weight.
