Sales of domestically produced passenger cars are exempted from VAT for 10 years from May 1, 2023.
Publika.az reports that the draft law on changes in the Tax Code was discussed in the agenda of the parliament session held on May 30.
According to the document, the change envisages supporting the production of passenger cars in the country.
According to another change, the import of technologies, equipment, components and raw materials for their production, as well as mine-detecting dogs, which are imported from October 15, 2021, will be exempted from VAT from March 1, 2023.
On the basis of the confirmation document of the body (institution) determined by the relevant executive power body, all types of equipment within the scope of cleaning the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as other territories affected by war and military operations, from mines and unexploded ordnance, explosive devices and other explosive remnants, production and sale of equipment, technical means and devices, their spare parts, personal protective clothing, tools, explosive and pyrotechnic means are also exempted from value added tax for a period of 5 years from March 1, 2023.
