These are the new reference prices for fuels in El Salvador

The flow of nationals and foreigners moving through the country’s different land, sea and air borders continues to increase, reflecting the importance that El Salvador currently has for tourism, residence or investment.

According to statistics from the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA), more than 1 million travelers have been served at the El Salvador International Airport between January 1 to March 10, 2024, which represents an increase of 42% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Likewise, the autonomous company registers more than 9,000 passenger flight operations by the 14 commercial airlines that operate at the aerodrome, which represents an increase of 29% compared to 2023.

Along the same lines, the Directorate of Immigration and Immigration reported that between January 1 and February 29, 2024, more than 2.3 million migration processes of nationals and foreigners are registered at the different borders of the country. In the income alone, 1,177,244 people were reported, while the departures totaled 1,195,592 during that period.

In addition, he reported that 58% of this movement corresponds to foreigners who have entered the country between the first months of the year.

In that sense, Migration affirms that only in the first two months of 2024, 682,831 foreigners entered the country, who did so through the two air terminals and the six land borders, as well as the maritime borders.

“The reasons for visiting the vast majority of foreigners are for tourism, followed by business or work, and other activities such as cultural and sports,” the institution detailed.

In addition, he indicated that the 10 nationalities that have visited El Salvador the most are tourists from Guatemala, the United States, Honduras, Nicaragua, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador.

The data recorded by Migration are in line with those recently reported by the president of the republic, Nayib Bukele, who highlighted that international tourism has had significant growth in El Salvador in the first months of the year, compared to the previous year.

According to the president, international tourism in the country has grown 35% so far this year, compared to the same period last year.
