There is no Eid joy in the family of late national team footballer Razia – 2024-04-13 11:21:04

Apart from the recently deceased national team footballer Razia, this Eid has brought grief to the entire family. Laxminathpur is still heavy with the lamentations of Ma Amirun Bibi. However, Razia’s family members have expressed their anger as BAUFFE (Bangladesh Football Federation) did not show any minimum donation or condolence.

According to family sources, Razia Sultana is the youngest among the five sons and daughters of deceased Nurali Sardar of Laxminathpur village in Kaliganj. While studying at Upakur Government Primary School in Kaliganj, Razia rose to fame at the age of 11 when she played in the Bangmata Fajitalunnessa football team. Later, he was called to the U-15 team while studying in the ninth standard at Kushulia Collegiate School. After that, he did not have to look back.

In 2020, she got married to another player Yam Rahman from Kaptai area of Chittagong. Razia stayed away from the game for some time to have a child.

She gave birth to a boy at her father’s house in Laxminathpur village on Wednesday, March 13. He was not willing to have a caesarean to maintain fitness. She died around four o’clock on Thursday morning due to excessive bleeding and later heart attack after giving birth to a boy naturally.

On inquiry, it is known that Razia’s son has been named Razim Rahman. He is now one month old. He is now being brought up by his grandmother Rokeya Khatun in Kaptai, Chittagong. And Razia’s husband Yam Rahman came to Kaliganj on Monday to visit his wife’s grave and celebrate Eid with his in-laws.

Razia’s elder brother Fazlur Rahman told Jago News, we are already shocked after Razia’s death. But it’s sad that for the football he dedicated his life to, no one has helped Razia’s family with even a single penny after his death.

Razia’s husband Yam Rahman told Jago News that my mother is raising our child. He is being brought up in our home at Kaptai. It was not possible to bring the son as it was a long way from Chittagong to Satkhira. I have come to celebrate Eid with my in-laws including visiting Razia’s grave. But without Razia, this Eid is more difficult than happy for me.

Kaliganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Dipankar Das told Jago News that no financial aid was given to Razia’s family by the government. But I went to his house to condole. Financial assistance will be given to his family if government directives are received.
