MADRID, Spain.- On September 15, 2024, it will be known who will be Miss Universe Cuba (MUC). The 20 women who will compete for the crown, heading to the Miss Universe pageant, will participate in a television show that day, as announced by the event organizers this week.

“On September 15 we will give an incredible, televised show that can be seen live throughout the United States, and will last three hours,” said Venezuelan fashion designer Prince Julio César, national director of MUC.

In an interview with the popular program of Cuban-American presenter Enrique Santos, Prince Julio César mentioned that after the virtual casting, in which 578 Cuban women participated, between 150 and 200 candidates will be chosen, of which the 20 official candidates who will participate will finally be selected. on the September television program.

He also reported that, despite having concluded the virtual casting, which received applications from young people both from outside and inside the Island, if any other Cuban wishes to participate, they can still contact the organizers through the pageant website. .

Applications were made from many countries, including Cuba, Dubai, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Spain and Colombia, according to the organization. At the beginning of May, Miss Universe Cuba, which will prepare the Cuban representative for the Miss Universe 2024 contest, began virtual auditions to choose the candidate. The 20 finalists will receive training for three months, a period in which they will be taught public speaking, catwalk and social project classes.

After 57 years, Cuba will once again have a representative in the Miss Universe 2024 beauty contest, soon to be held in Mexico during the month of November. In the history of the contest, Cuba had attended from its first edition in 1952 until 1960, the date on which Fidel Castro’s regime prohibited the participation of women. In later years, until 1967, exiled representatives in Miami participated under the name of Miss Cuba Libre.
