Hassan Al-Raddad and his film “Blumondo” achieved great success and high grosses, reaching first place at the box office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, surpassing international and Arab stars.
Star Amy Samir Ghanem appears in this film as a guest of honor, making it the seventh collaboration between her and her husband Hassan Al-Raddad. Despite the lack of work that brought them together, many people prefer to watch them together.
In an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya.net, artist Hassan Al-Raddad spoke about the film and its scenes, as well as his new series “The Warrior”, with which he will compete in the 2024 Ramadan race.

Why are you excited to participate in this work?
In the period when I received the script of the film “Blumondo”, I had more than one comedy script, but in the end I chose it, because it contains new, non-traditional ideas, and the story also deserves to be presented in many parts, besides to the fact that the work is based on situational comedy that arises from events and not on “Al-Efeh”, which was formulated with a different artistic vision.

In fact, we have already collaborated in the past, through the films “Zanqat Sitat”, “Ashan Kharijin”, the series “Haqq Mit” and “Azmi and Ashgan”, as well as the radio series “Sika Band” and the comedy “Television”. “Despite the limited number of works… We are united, but many people prefer to watch us together. The truth is that there is a charisma that unites us on the screen and I am happy when we work together. It is also the first film he presents after a period of absence from the screen.

In the film there were many guests of honor with Amy, how was this done?
The idea of the film is simple and intelligent at the same time, in addition to the fact that it contains a lot of comedy, which I was absent from for a while, so when I contacted the guests of honor they told me I liked the idea, guided by the artist Amr Youssef, who is like my brother, my friend and a ten year old. As soon as I contacted him he agreed to participate immediately, in fact he canceled all his commitments to film, and also Rami Radwan, because he is a big media figure and has a dominant presence on the screen, and for that I thank them very much.
What is the secret to titling the film “Blumondo”?
The film was called “Blumondo” in honor of the French actor and producer Jean-Paul Bloumondo because he looks handsome and “Jean”, and for a long time when there is a person who believes that he is attractive or “Jean” and handsome, them tell him: “You think you are Blumondo”, and hence the name was born with the aim of attracting… The public, the business initially bore the name “25 Hay Al-Yasmeen”, but it was changed because it is a traditional and completely non-commercial name.
Because of the name, we prepared the character for a while, holding intense work sessions for stylist Abeer Al Ansari, and suggested more than one form for the character’s features, from clothing and hairstyle, to when we haven’t decided on the shape. in which he appeared, as befitted the facts, and very close to the youthful spirit, so Bluemondo in The film follows a handsome young man who works in the real estate sector and marries a girl of high social class.

Did you think it was the right time to release the film, especially since the overall atmosphere was tense?
One of the effects of the film’s success is that it is an industry. The producer invests millions in the star, the hero of the play, and then he needs to earn money to recoup those millions. If the movie doesn’t succeed, it won’t. I will have to deal with the hero again, so I am always careful to ensure that the film is shown at a good time, and as an actor, I have nothing to do with the timing of the show. My role ends with the end of the film. The manufacturer has contracts and penalty terms with distributors and many other details.
But for me, on a personal level, the timing of the release of the film was not at all in the company’s interest, but there was no other choice and, despite this, it achieved good revenues, especially in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. cinema, and for this reason I decided to donate the proceeds from the first week of screening of the film, as an official declaration of solidarity. Towards the Palestinian people, this is my role as an artist, and of course it is the least I can do for our people there, in that horrible war.
How about the “Muharib” series where you will participate in the Ramadan rush?
I was supposed to present this work last year, but it was postponed for a year, because the work belongs to series with huge budgets, and requires a lot of preparation and preparation time, and when I heard that the time remaining until the month of The Ramadan did not allow it to go well, I preferred to postpone it to Ramadan 2024. The events of the series take place in a social context, and through it I embody a new character, which will bring many surprises, since it is a very rich character in all its details, so we prepared well with director Sherine Adel.
Are there any new jobs you are preparing for?
I have several scenarios that I’m currently reading and when I pick one, it will be ready to show in the summer season of 2024, but things aren’t finalized yet.
