“The Wind Cluster” conveys the suffering of Alzheimer’s

Athr Art and Culture Troupe is preparing to present a national tour of its new play “The Wind Cluster”, supervised by director Naima Zitan, with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and in cooperation with the “Aquarium” Theater.

The events of the play “The Wind Cluster” take place inside an old house that holds historical value. Inside it lives a woman named “Asmahan”, who is a retired history professor and lives in isolation from the world due to her illness. Meanwhile, her younger brother “Khalil” takes care of her in a house that they inherited from their father, who left them a will that included a condition stating that the house could not be sold except after their mutual consent, while it was forbidden to sell it to strangers.

This theatrical work presents, through dramatic situations on stage, a conflict between two different generations; a generation that values ​​and appreciates intangible capital, and a generation that only thinks in terms of material value and consumption values. It also tells a story full of human emotions about a brother who devotes his life to caring for his sister who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

The play “The Wind Cluster” also reveals, over the course of an hour, the suffering of the family of an Alzheimer’s patient and his surroundings, in addition to the difference in values ​​between individuals and the warmth of the family embrace, which represents a homeland for some, in a format that blends reality and fantasy to embody an exciting story for the audience of the father of the arts.

The play stars Farida Al Bouazzaoui and Moncef Kabri, written by Anas Al Aqel, dramatology and direction by Naima Zitan, and scenography by Amin Ait Hamou.

Theatrical director Naima Zitan, along with members of the Athr Art and Culture Troupe, is expected to visit a number of theatres in various Moroccan cities, most notably the Portuguese Quarter Theatre in El Jadida, the Mohammed Al-Manouni Cultural Complex in Meknes, the Cultural and Artistic Activation Complex in Salé, in addition to the cities of El Hajeb and Casablanca.
