The Portuguese club “Boavishta” is approaching bankruptcy.
Publika.az The Portuguese press reported on this.
Initially, it became known that the “whites and blacks” could not get a license to play in the second, third or fourth league of Portuguese football due to financial problems. Due to the situation, “Boavishta” was forced to play in the regional league, but in October, they refused the competition due to consecutive technical defeats.
Yesterday, “Boavista” confirmed that the court of the city of Vila Nova de Gaya received an application for the liquidation of the club based on numerous debts.
The management of the 122-year-old club said that it will try to preserve the structure, thus not depriving its students of the opportunity to provide the infrastructure of the club.
“Boavista” was the champion of Portugal in 2001, won the national cup 5 times and won the super cup 3 times.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani football players Kamran Aghayev (who finished his career) and Emin Mahmudov played in “Boavishta” in the 2016/17 season.
