Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas have been added to the so-called UN “list of shame”, which is attached to an annual report presented by the Secretary General, António Guterres, which lists the perpetrators of human rights violations. children in armed conflicts, reports The Times of Israel.
Apparently, the formal notification was delivered by Guterres’ office to the Israeli mission to the UN this Friday. Thus, the Hebrew country joins the ranks of the Islamic State, Al Qaeda, the Nigerian group Boko Haram, Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, Somalia, Yemen, Syria and Russia. This designation lasts for four years.
Although previous reports included chapters on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, in which the Hebrew country was accused of serious violations of children’s rights, it was always excluded from the final list.
The response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was immediate. The president assured that the UN “has today placed itself on the blacklist of history by joining the supporters of the Hamas murderers.” Likewise, he assured that the Israel Defense Forces “are the most moral Army in the world and no delusional decision by the UN will change that.”
“This immoral decision will only help terrorists and reward Hamas. The only one on the list of shame today is the Secretary General, whose decisions, since the war began and even before, are encouraging terrorists to use children,” he insisted.
Netanyahu concluded by calling the decision “shameful,” because, according to him, it will make Hamas “continue to use even more schools and hospitals” and give the Palestinian movement “hope to survive,” in addition to “prolonging the war and suffering.” Fuente: RT
