There were times when the Czech customer did not have to be afraid of shopping in domestic stores. Although the food was of poor quality in terms of animal products and therefore relatively risky, the Czech Republic had an excellent reputation as one of the safest countries. But today this is far from true.
They just took something
For several months, the State Agricultural and Food Inspection Agency has been reporting one finding after another in chicken meat. They have a lot in common. Salmonella is found in most of them and the company We Trade usually supplies it to the Czech market, from which retail chains such as Tesco, Penny Market or Makro are happy to purchase.
There have already been at least six arrests in about three months, which is a truly sad result. Unfortunately, it is almost certain that many batches have not been tested and have gone unnoticed. Even so, this serious problem is not talked about much in the public space.
This did not let one of the most prominent Czech farmers sleep, who described everything frankly and directly. “There is one thing from Ukraine, and that is grain, and then the animal, that is, chickens with salmonella, and no one dares to say: enough! And it is known that it is repackaged in Slovakia and that some Ukrainian owns it and still wants to increase turnover,“, says Jaroslav Šíma, head of the Plzeň branch of the Agrarian Chamber, who also runs an agricultural business. “The point is that he keeps chickens somewhere and we have to keep them cage-free. Abolishing cage farming cost a lot of money. It went exactly as I said about five years ago.“

He wants to drive here even more
The farmer alludes to the interesting fact that the chicken meat importing company here does not seem to have been affected by the above-mentioned problems. He, on the contrary, wants to increase imports into the Czech Republic and this does not bother anyone.

Šíma also focused on the continuous provocation of retail chains, according to which they are not to blame for the price increase. According to him, it is ridiculous that the Czech public is presented with figures such as a profitability of 2-4%. According to him, these are artificially created numbers, while the real profit is significantly higher.
