The third Fantastic Beasts: What are they and what did the actors say to the Flash?

Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows that the powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is on his way to take over the wizarding world. Unable to stop him on his own, he enlists magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker (Dan Fogler) on a perilous mission where they encounter fantastical beasts old and new and confront Grindelwald’s growing army followers. But how long will Dumbledore be able to stay away when the stakes are so high? Czech viewers will find answers to this and many other questions already on April 7 in cinemas.

We have asked some of the questions for you. The wizarding (and muggle) whirlwind took place when we asked the film’s actors for an answer as to which fantastical creature they would welcome in the real world. “Half vision. Because they see the future. He could give me lottery numbers. I would take him to Vegas,” Dan Fogler told the Lightningportraying baker Jacob Kowalski, who has become more involved with the wizarding world than he could have ever hoped for. “You can marry the rake Teddy,” countered the new Grindelwald Mads Mikkelsen. “He would steal everything from me,” Fogler said. “If you train him, no. I could train him!” Mikkelsen insisted. . “Chi-lin, only Chi-lin. I love chi-lin!” Victoria Yeates, the representative of Newt’s assistant Bunty, intervened in the debate.

The book Harry Potter - A Magical Year takes the reader on an unforgettable journey through all the seasons in Hogwarts.

She thus revealed one of the new creatures, which is essential for the third part of the series. The recluse qilin (originally qilin), perhaps the most revered magical animal in the world – prized for its innate ability to see into a person’s very soul and tell if their heart is pure. “I like the twig and the rake Teddy the best. They are like brothers who are constantly competing with each other,” said Eddie Redmayne. “The animals are absolutely wonderful and created to the smallest detail. The rake can dominate the whole scene,” concluded Jude Law.

Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Mystery • Jude Law reappears as Albus Dumbledore.

Jud Law’s almost unbelievable transformation into Albus Dumbledore is one of the great positives of the film. It is more noticeable than in the previous work. The actor perfectly mastered every detail of the character, with intonation, facial expressions and movements he refers to his predecessors in the role from the Potter stories, Richard Harris and Michael Gambon. The next question was: did you somehow study their performances in order to perfect the character? “I watched the films over and over again, saying I was doing research, but mostly I was captivated by them,” admitted Law. “However, it was important for us to break free from the character of Dumbledore as he was in the earlier films, because at the time of our film he was a completely different person. But at the same time, we wanted to keep the strongest things that Harris and Gambon gave the character, the kind humor and respect for life. I kind of stole these qualities from those old movies.”

The film focuses a lot on the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. What would you tell us about him? “The film is very much about how they met and what it meant to them. But I also wondered what Dumbledore was like before he and Grindelwald met. I imagine him as a very young genius, a lonely man who represses his own power and ambition. And then suddenly he recognizes Grindelwald, who is equally intelligent and who inspires him. It’s a very strong connection, but then comes that moment of dismay when you realize your paths are diverging. For me personally, the role, playing it at this age, allowed me to look back on my own life. Even for the mistakes I’ve made,” Jude Law replied.

Next in line was Mads Mikkelsen, who, in addition to the demanding role, also has to deal with the fact that many fans resented the change of actors in the role of Gellert Grindelwald. He was originally played by Johnny Depp. However, he was replaced by Mikkelsen after the judgment of the British court, which related to domestic violence. What was it like for him to enter this film world, and how did he conceive his character? “It’s true that I joined the shoot later than the others who already had some experience with their characters. All I could do was hope they would accept me, which they did. Everyone was great, so even though I joined a bit on impulse, it went well,” the actor, who has played a number of villains in the past, told Blesk.

How did you manage to find both opposites in Grindelwald, evil and personal charm? “It comes from the story itself. Grindelwald has a close bond with Dumbledore, so I came out of their relationship. But no one plays a character with the idea that they’re the villain and that’s the end of it. I had to discover what Grindelwald’s mission was. I think Grindelwald and Dumbledore had common goals as children, then decided to go their separate ways to achieve them.” Mikkelsen’s Grindelwald is undoubtedly different from the previous works, but the actor elevates the character within the drama of the story, giving it a new, chilling dimension. Mikkelsen brilliantly portrays the ‘evil lurking beneath the surface’, a silent threat that simmers before it strikes. He already did that as Hannibal Lecter in the series of the same name. And the viewer really enjoys his Grindelwald!

Of course, we couldn’t miss the magizoologist Newt Scamander, the protagonist of the stories, played by Eddie Redmayne. In this movie, Dumbledore seems to take him as an equal partner who manages the entire team. Can you describe the relationship between the two men and what it was like working with Jude Law? “I fell in love with the relationship between Dumbledore and Newt, they are kind of like a teacher and an apprentice, but gradually during the movie they move into an almost brotherly relationship, like an older brother and a younger brother. When he sees how vulnerable Dumbledore is, he tries to give him advice,” Redmayne said. “What I really like about Newt is that he’s an introvert who’s content with the world he lives in, full of fantastical creatures, but Dumbledore sees in him the qualities of a born leader. At the same time, they are all very unusual.”

“As for Jude, I admire him a lot, we were friends before we got on camera,” Redmayne continued. “The advantage of working together on multiple projects is that people get along so well that their relationship deepens. I had a great time working with him,” said the exceptional British actor, who won an Oscar for his leading role in The Theory of Everything (2014). Years before he took home the Best Actor award for his role as Stephen Hawking, Redmayne auditioned for the role of Tom Riddle – the gifted Hogwarts student who mutated into Lord Voldemort over time. “It didn’t go very well,” he admits today with a smile. “I got through about three lines of text in the first scene before they stopped me.” But even that allowed him to become Newt Scamander, which he thoroughly enjoys portraying. So what is his new adventure?
