On the afternoon of January 9, after a few hours of the fire, An Khe town police (Gia Lai province) investigated and clarified the cause of the fire that killed 3 people and identified the arson suspect.
The suspect identified as NTN (1972, residing in An Khe town), was found dead in a hanging position in a motel room about 900m from the fire scene.
Initially, the Police Department determined that Ms. V. (the woman who died in the motel room) had a romantic relationship with NTN and Mr. T. (the second victim in the fire), so this may be a case of set fire to murder due to jealousy.
The Police Department conducted an examination of the scene and investigated the fire that killed three people.
During the inspection of NTN’s motel room, the police discovered that this subject had died in a hanging position, about 900 meters from the fire scene.
As PLVN previously reported, at about 2:00 a.m. on the same day, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of An Khe area under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police received news from Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phi (born 1996) about the big fire that occurred in a motel room on Hoang Hoa Tham Street, An Tan Ward, An Khe Town.
Immediately after receiving the news, the authorities quickly dispatched two fire engines and dozens of soldiers to the scene to extinguish the fire. About 30 minutes later the fire was extinguished.
In the process of extinguishing the fire, the authorities discovered 3 people had died, including: NTTV (born 1979, residing in group 1, An Phu ward, An Khe town); TTKH (born 2009, daughter of Ms. V.) and Mr. NTT (residing in Pleiku City).
