On April 4, the next plenary meeting of the spring session of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was held.
Publika.az reports that the report of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the autonomous republic for 2023 was discussed at the meeting.
The report was presented by Gunay Rzayeva, the ombudsman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Ismayil Gharibli, chairman of the legal policy committee of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, brought the opinion of the committee to the attention of the report.
Deputy Speaker of the Supreme Assembly Anar Ibrahimov noted that the annual report of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was sent to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He said that for the first time in the experience of the Supreme Assembly, the report of the autonomous republican ombudsman was posted on the official website of the parliament for the public’s familiarization before the debate. The Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Assembly thanked the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the complete preparation of the report for 2023 in terms of form, comprehensiveness of content and approach to problems. He emphasized that he hopes that it will happen, and drew attention to his notes and questions about the report.

The decision to consider the annual report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was adopted by voting.
