The “strongest woman in the world” turned out to be a man –

The athlete, who is biologically male, was deprived of the title of “The strongest woman in the world”.

28-year-old Jamie Booker took first place in the women’s Strongman Games tournament in Arlington, Texas. 43-year-old Andrea Thompson from Great Britain took the second place. Race organizers disqualified Booker because they only learned after the tournament that he was biologically male.

The statement reads:

“Apparently, a competitor who is biologically male and now identifies as female competed in the female category. Strongman organizers were not aware of this fact prior to the start of the competition. An investigation was immediately launched after we were informed. We tried to contact the participant, but did not receive a response. If we had known this in advance, or if this fact had been announced before or during the competition, that athlete would not have been entered in the female category. Competitors only correspond to the biological sex indicated at birth they can compete in the category”.
