The Prime Video platform released the trailer for the documentary this Monday ‘Operation Hope: The Lost Boys in the Amazon’, the story of the four children who survived for 40 days in the middle of the Colombian Amazon that will premiere on April 26.
“A place where few humans venture and where it is believed that powerful spirits of the jungle exist,” reads the voice of the Colombian singer Gloria ‘Goyo’ Emilse Martínez, narrator of the trailer.
The four minors, between 1 and 13 years old, were traveling in a small plane that crashed on May 1, 2023 in the middle of the Colombian Amazon and it was not until June 9 that the authorities found their whereabouts alive.
In total they spent 40 days alone in the jungle, and the documentary shows how the rescue operation was developed, for which the Army and indigenous people collaborated.
The film includes the testimonies of those who lived through the search, such as the words of the director of the operation, General Pedro Sánchez, and the indigenous leader who found the children, Dairo Mucutuy, as well as the stories that the children themselves told their families.
