In continuation of the previous working day, the first working day of the week, the stock market of the country fell on Sunday. Through this, prices fell for three consecutive working days. And out of the last 13 working days, the stock market fell on 11 working days.
On this day, the main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), increased and decreased more than twice the price of shares and units of companies. As a result, all the values have decreased. However, the volume of transactions has increased slightly.
In Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), another stock market, the shares and units of more companies have been placed in the list of falling prices compared to rising prices. As a result, all price indices have decreased in this market as well. Along with that, the volume of transactions has decreased.
On this day, trading in the stock market started by increasing the share prices of most of the companies. However, the share price of Grameenphone, which plays a major role in the index, decreased and the index turned negative. The index which turns negative at the beginning continues till the end. Even the negative trend of the index increased towards the end of the session.
At the end of the day’s trading, 110 companies have entered the list of price increase on DSE. On the contrary, the prices of 242 companies have decreased. And the price of 40 remains unchanged. In this, the main price index of DSE, DSEX, fell by 39 points to 6,215 points.
The DSE-30 index, which consists of 30 companies, is down 13 points compared to the previous day at 2,113 points. And the DSE Shariah index fell by 9 points to 1,349 points compared to the previous day.
All indices fell but transaction volume increased. 981 crores 55 lakhs were traded in DSE. 916 crore 42 lakh taka was traded on the previous working day. Accordingly, the transaction has increased by 65 crore 13 lakh taka.
Shares of Fu-Wang Ceramics contributed the most to this transaction. 52 crore 53 lakh shares of the company have been traded. Central Pharmaceuticals, which is in second place, traded shares worth Tk 49.87 million. BD Thai Aluminum is in the third place with a share transaction of Tk 31 crore 5 lakh.
Apart from this, the list of 10 companies in terms of transactions in DSE includes – Active Fine, Munnu Fabrics, Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh, Olympic Accessories, Fu-Wang Food, Grameenphone and Envoy Textiles.
Another stock market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) overall price index CASPI decreased by 87 points. 95 of the 260 firms that participated in the market rose in price. On the contrary, the prices of 126 have decreased and the prices of 39 have remained unchanged. 18 crore 17 lakh taka has been transacted.
