STAVERN / OSLO (Dagbladet): Police launched a search for the missing woman in Stavern on Saturday. On Sunday we continue where you left off.
This was stated by business manager Bernt Aamodt. At the same time, he asks people nearby to do an extra check in garages and stalls.
– We don’t know what could have happened to the woman or where she is. It would therefore be of great help to us if residents in the area would look in their garages, sheds or similar and let us know if there is anything that could be of interest to the investigation and search, says Aamodt in a press release on Sunday morning.
The project manager also points out that there has been a lot of snow recently and says it might be a good idea to remove snow that may have covered the areas in question.

Let the next of kin contribute
In recent days, several massive searches have been carried out in the area, particularly near the couple’s home.
Also on Sunday, there were 20 people involved in the search. The search on Sunday was concentrated 20 meters from the house, to exclude that she was there. When the area is suitable for navigation, the search will be extended by 50 metres.
In Dagbladet, Aamot says they have little information to go on and the search is therefore focused on the local area.
– We have a limited number of resources and we need to manage them as best we can. When we have as little to do as we do now, it will be crucial to investigate the area around the crime scene.
When asked how they collaborate with the woman’s next of kin, who have started their own search operations on the ground, he replies that the police now want to involve the next of kin in the searches.
The police turn: the suspect has weakened
A meeting is scheduled for 12pm between the police and those who wish to collaborate in the search.
Previously the police had not involved the closest relatives in the search, although the woman’s family had expressed a strong desire to do so. The family then launched a search operation on Saturday which, according to lawyer Ellen Holager Andenæs, included around 30 people.
– We want to raise the quality of family research and provide assistance with information. We are doing everything we can to find her, but we don’t have high hopes of making a discovery today, says Aamot on why the police decided to involve the next of kin.

Police confirmed on Saturday morning that they had made some finds in the snow in connection with the search, but a short time later Dagbladet learned that the finds were not as interesting as first thought. The police confirmed this on Sunday.
– A couple of items were found that we wanted to look at more closely. Unfortunately, these turned out not to be relevant to the case, says Aamot.
New twist: – Absolutely sick
Different theories
Police raised a murder alert in Stavern on Tuesday evening when a man in his 50s was found dead in his home. Her roommate, the missing woman in her 40s, was missing.
A short time later, they charged the woman with the murder and searched for her internationally. On Thursday, however, the case took a new turn: Police said the woman may have been killed first — a theory they later called “strengthened.”
– We don’t even want to give weight to the other theories now, but for the moment we note that the hypothesis of the woman’s murder is weakened. We don’t know what happened to her. We don’t have the facts about it, since we didn’t find her, police lawyer Ole Jacob Garder told Dagbladet on Friday.
