Westfield Bondi Junction shopping center in eastern Sydney is on lockdown after the incident on the afternoon of March 14.
People ran across the pedestrian bridge outside the center while others said they were being evacuated from the center’s parking lot.
Meanwhile, hundreds of shoppers were hiding in the back of the David Jones department store, which had its shutters pulled down.
A man was seen running and holding a gun inside the center.
A police spokesman said the police force was conducting an investigation and gathering detailed information at the scene.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured in this incident or not./
